1. Information We Collect

From Merchants:

When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, business name, and necessary OAuth authentication tokens to connect our software to your Point of Sale (POS) system.

From End-Customers:

When a customer places an order through a Spot storefront, we collect the information strictly necessary to process the order. This includes name, phone number, and delivery address. Payment card details are passed directly to the payment processor (e.g., Square) and are never stored on Spot's servers.

2. How We Use the Information

We use the collected information solely to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Spot platform.
  • Facilitate the syncing of POS data (inventory, menus, locations).
  • Transmit completed order details and delivery addresses to the Merchant's POS system so they can fulfill the transaction.
  • Communicate with Merchants regarding software updates, support, and billing.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal data or your customers' data to advertisers. We only share data with:

  • Your chosen POS Provider (e.g., Square): To push orders into your physical register system.
  • Service Providers: Cloud hosting and database providers (e.g., Vercel, Supabase) required to operate our software infrastructure.
  • Legal Compliance: When requested by law enforcement or to protect our legal rights.

4. Data Retention and Security

We employ industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Merchant accounts and customer order histories are retained as long as the Merchant maintains an active subscription with Spot. Merchants may request the deletion of their software account and associated data by contacting support.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies and local storage tokens to manage user sessions, persist shopping carts, and keep the application secure. We do not use third-party invasive tracking cookies for advertising purposes.
